The Africa Travel Co are an African based adventure company. They provide a wide range of trips from 7 day guided ascents up Mt Kilimanjaro to 56 Days Nairobi to Cape Town overland adventures.
Many of their guests join as solo travelers and what makes this outfit special is that, unlike other large adventure holiday companies, they are actually based in Africa and therefore know the continent as well as anyone.
We are hoping to send someone from Solo Travel to Africa to experience one of their shorter trips , so look out for a full report later in the year.
In the mean time you can access there site below.

So the idea of Solo Travel .ORG is to be about solo travel, right? Well that’s partly correct of course but here at Solo Travel we also would like to provide information for those who have to take a holiday on their own but would like to join some sort of organised group.
We are going to be featuring some of the major adventure holidays travel companies on our blog with some reviews and ideas for the solo traveler.
The companies we will be focusing on will be from both Europe and North America.
Air travel is as popular as ever now and is set to become more expensive. This should be raising alarm bells for any solo traveler. So what is behind this sudden increase in air fares?
The number one reason is fuel costs and the rising cost of oil prices. This cost is passed on from the airline directly to the traveler whether it be in the form of a surcharge or simply raising ticket prices.
The thing with solo travelers and travelers in general is that if you are going to go traveling around South America or Southeast Asia, you going to whatever. Even if the price of the ticket goes up by $100.
The airlines are wise to this and will keep pushing up prices accordingly. Supply and demand has a big impact as well.
Some travel experts predict that on some popular routes prices could double over the next year. Good news for the airline but not so great for the solo traveler!
Even when you are traveling already you should always be aware of the various travel advisories from various Governments.
As solo travelers you might be more at risk in certain countries so always refer to the advisories once in a while while you are on the road.
World Nomads have a useful travel advice page which lists all the at risk countries.
Happy solo travels and be safe!
OK, this blog has been pretty quiet over the last few months but expect that to all change now. We are creating some new categories for the solo travel blog which will include solo holidays, solo cruise news, solo adventure travel news and general news for the solo traveler.
If you have any ideas for things you would like to see on the blog then leave a comment.
Don’t forget the solo travel forum with lots of areas for discussion for everything solo!
