Traveling Solo and Staying in Hostels
It wasn't so long ago that youth hostels were just that – hostels for young travelers. These days, however, you're just as likely to find a 45-year-old on a sabbatical as a group of student travelers.
The new breed of backpackers hostel are perfect for the solo traveler. They encourage a community feel where travelers look out for one another.
Of course, you can come and go as you please, but, unlike in a hotel, you can also meet all sorts of like-minded people, should you want a bit of company. The beauty of it is that, in the evenings, you can exchange travel stories and tips over a few drinks.
